The Office of Career Services on Wednesday July 17, 2019 visited the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences (CAVS) top management staff including the Principal Prof. Rose Nyikal, Dean for Veterinary Medicine and Prof. Ndichu Maingi among other Chairman and lecturers attended the briefing session.

The purpose of the session was to brief the CAVs top management about the mandate of the Office of Career Services and to explore on areas of joint effort to de-centralize the activities of the career office to the college level.

The proposal from the Career Office was for the College to offer the following information in order to plan for activities at the college level;

  1. CAVs Academic Calendar;
  2. Database of agricultural companies and partners;
  3. Proposals on alumni to engage to improve students’ life in campus.

The Career office also proposed the following student activities to be done in collaboration with the college.

  1. Career Fairs and Exhibitions at CAVS;
  2. Career talks and Mentorship programs;
  3. Skills Development; and
  4. Student Talent Shows;

The Career Office is looking forward to partner with CAVS to bring activities right to the college level for the betterment of the students. The purpose is to develop student skills and groom them for employability
